On Monday, Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, initiated a public outreach campaign across several areas in Khijri Assembly constituency, including Harijan Tola, Basant Vihar, Anand, Tujhu, Hajam, and Saudag. The campaign aimed to rally local voters to support BJP candidate Ramkumar Pahan in the upcoming elections. Seth urged the residents to vote for Pahan, highlighting his potential to bring significant development to the constituency. "Vote for the lotus symbol for a prosperous Khijri," Seth said, emphasizing the importance of exercising their voting rights on November 20, which he described as pivotal for the constituency’s progress.
Seth sharply criticized the ruling Hemant Soren-led government in Jharkhand. He accused the Congress party of promoting appeasement politics, which he argued fosters division rather than unity. "The Congress is following divisive politics, seeking to weaken the fabric of the nation," Seth stated. He also criticized the Soren government for failing to deliver on key promises made to the youth of Jharkhand, particularly in terms of employment. Seth argued that the current administration had not taken adequate steps to address unemployment issues, leading to disillusionment among young people in the state.
One of the major issues raised by Seth was the alleged rise of illegal immigration into Jharkhand, specifically from Bangladesh. He claimed that the Congress-led government was providing shelter to infiltrators, thereby depriving the local workforce of jobs. "The Hemant government is allowing illegal immigrants to settle in Jharkhand, thereby taking jobs away from our youth," Seth remarked. He also accused the government of disregarding the interests of the native population in favor of appeasing outsiders, which he believed had negative implications for the state’s economic stability.
Seth further criticized the Hemant Soren government for its failure to effectively implement several central government schemes aimed at the state’s development. Despite the Modi government’s commitment to providing financial support for Jharkhand, Seth claimed that the Soren government had actively obstructed these plans. He mentioned that the state government had been resistant to adopting several schemes, particularly those focused on employment generation, women’s safety, and anti-corruption initiatives. "Modi government has always shown special care for Jharkhand, but the state government has deliberately blocked these efforts," he said. He also pointed out that the success of these national schemes required the cooperation of both the central and state governments, a condition he argued could be achieved with a "double-engine" government.
In his concluding remarks, Seth urged the voters of Khijri to vote for a change, stating that the people were dissatisfied with the current administration’s handling of key issues, including corruption, unemployment, and women’s safety. He emphasized the importance of a government that would prioritize local people’s needs and ensure the state's overall development. Seth called for voters to support BJP’s Ramkumar Pahan on November 20, asserting that under his leadership, Khijri would see the kind of progress it had been lacking.
